3D Glasses (Fit-over)
Anthropometric Research + Industrial Design
These one-size-fits-all 3D glasses eliminates the need to sort and distribute multiple sizes in between theatre shows. Detailed anthropometric study was conducted to ensure universal fit, especially for patrons attending with prescription glasses.
Quantitative Research & Analysis
About a dozen frames were selected (from a catalog of 1,500+) to form design parameters and used in real-world testing. These varied in size and style with a focus on larger frames, as they pose more challenges with fit-over frames.
Fine-tuning
I created parametric CAD models that allowed me to modify dimensions and other ergonomic variables. Multiple frames were prototyped and tested on models of different ethnic background and facial features. Evaluation focused on comfort, fit, visibility, and other relevant observations.
